HBO has garnered a sterling reputation for quality television programming. The inmates in Emerald City in theory are considered to be a part of an experimental rehabilitation program through which they have additional responsibilities and yet additional freedoms at the same time. Nonetheless, the inmates at Oz (as well as more than few staff members) can be found engaging in illicit activities of all types during each and every episode. From sex to drugs to violence and many other dramatic situations in between, the life and times of Oz is high pressure to say the least. Oz features a strong ensemble cast.
